Join our special panel discussion on Tuesday, April 25th from 6:00pm - 7:15pm on the Federal Reserve’s role in modulating the economy to accomplish its dual mandate of stable prices and maximum employment. The Fed is often described as the most powerful institution in the world.

This robust discussion will be led by two accomplished individuals -Eric Rosengren, Former President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and Kristina Hooper, Chief Global Equity Strategist for Invesco. Eric served as Fed President for over 14 years and is a former member of the Federal Open Market committee . Eric played a critical role in resolving the GFC ( Great Financial Crisis) as well as setting monetary policy during the global pandemic. Kristina coordinates and directs global strategy for Invesco across the world. 

The discussion will focus on several key points:

  • The role of the Fed versus the US Treasury 
  • Why is the Fed considered the world’s central bank?
  • The Fed’s current battle to control inflation and the repercussions for the US economy
  • Is the Fed done raising interest rates and what is the outlook for inflation? 
  • Does the Fed target the stock and bond markets while setting policy?
  • What’s the long term outlook for the US dollar and it’s status as a global reserve currency? 

Raj Sharma, Managing Director and Private Wealth Advisor at Merrill Lynch will moderate the discussion.
